Prosecutors in Spain are demanding a two-and-a-half year prison sentence for a Spanish football executive accused of kissing a gay player without consent.
Luis Rubiales, who was president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, kissed player Jenny Hermoso on the lips after his country's victory in the World Cup final against England. He has always insisted that the kiss was consensual and has denied any wrongdoing.
Though Hermoso had no issues on the time, the difficulty grew to become a media storm and Rubiales was ultimately pressured to resign and banned from football-related actions for 3 years.
But that wasn't sufficient for Hermoso and Spanish prosecutors, who are actually charging Rubiales with sexual assault and coercion. They’re demanding a jail sentence of two and a half years and 50,000 euros compensation.
