Vladimir Putin and Russia are facing Western criticism and threats following the death of Russian political dissident Alexei Nalvany and the arrest of dual Russian/US citizen Ksenia Karelin, a ballerina. Stupid Putin. What he clearly fails to understand is that all he has to do is declare these people as MAGA supporters and then he can do whatever he wants with them and the West will cheer him on.
Ok. Enough sarcasm. Let's deal with reality. In my opinion, Alexei Nalvany was considered the leading Russian political dissident by Western pundits and politicians, but at home he was a nobody. Hell, Marianne Williamson may have more support in the United States than Nalvany does in Russia. Nalwani's only “political” message was to accuse Putin of being a corrupt supporter of the oligarchs. Nalwani did not present any political viewpoint. His social media accounts have rarely delved into political philosophy, nor have they offered any vision of anything like Make Russia Again.
When Nalwani took the time to record his political views using a video platform, his message was shocking and disturbing. He described Muslims – not just some, but all – as cockroaches who needed to be destroyed. Think about it for a moment and ask yourself, “What are those Western politicians praising Nalwani's thinking?” I thought all these Voxters were supposed to be racists. Yet, here they are mourning the death of an ultra-Russian nationalist who enthusiastically embraced the most despicable racist beliefs. This isn't the first time Joe Biden has mourned the passing of a racist — remember his comments about the late Senator Robert Byrd, the former head of the Ku Klux Klan in West Virginia?
Take the time to read Scott Ritter's excellent piece describing the real Alexei Nalvany. You can see it here. In short, Nalwani was a tool of Western intelligence. I don't know whether it was intentional or unintentional, but it served Western interests eager to see Russia destroyed and Putin destroyed.
As far as little dancer Ksenia Karelina is concerned, she is a law breaker. He donated $50 to the Ukrainian Army. So what? Why should that be a crime? So let's look at that question from a Western perspective. Is it OK for Congresswoman Ilhan Omar to donate money to ISIS? Would it be OK for a dual Israeli/Jordanian citizen to give dollars to Hamas? no way. It is morally inappropriate to provide financial support to groups or individuals who murder their own citizens. But here's the big difference – Russia passed the law and Vladimir Putin signed it prohibiting the provision of financial aid to the Ukrainian military. It seems that the Russian judicial system really believes in the principle of enforcing laws.
The United States no longer has any moral authority to lecture or warn foreign countries about persecuting political opponents. We now know that the CIA and FBI, along with the Justice Department, were armed to attack Donald Trump and try to destroy him. He is still at risk of being jailed for challenging the fraudulent elections. An election that was full of outside interference. Only it wasn't Russian or Chinese – it was the Deep State intelligence and law enforcement bureaucracy in the United States.
More than 1,200 US citizens have so far been arrested and charged with crimes for the simple act of breaking into the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. The Washington establishment is pushing the lie that these people attacked and overpowered the Capitol Hill police. This is nonsense. The only people who committed any murders that day were law enforcement personnel and no one was convicted.
Before the United States says another word of condemnation about political persecution in Russia, it needs to get its house in order and end its persistent persecution of Donald Trump and his supporters. Otherwise, Uncle Sam should keep quiet.
