The sudden friendship between a poor fisherman and an imposing hen who first arrived on his boat 13 years in the past has fascinated Turkey for years.
The stork – nicknamed Yaren, or “companion” in Turkish, has returned to Edem Yilmaz's boat annually, after migrating south for the winter. Native information media fortunately documented their arrival final month.
Now, because of 24-hour webcams arrange by the native authorities, stork lovers in every single place can try Yaren and his accomplice, Nazli, or “Coquette” in Turkish. They hunt, bend their necks, snap their beaks, renovate their nests and generally even mate.
