Mr Nshimiye testified on the 2019 trial of Jean-Leonard Teganya, who was convicted as a genocide perpetrator. Prosecutors accused him of mendacity underneath oath to hide his involvement within the murders. In response to courtroom filings, he’s accused of being personally concerned within the killings of ethnic Tutsi folks, attacking their heads with sticks studded with nails after which decapitating them with a knife.
