Thick clouds of smoke hung over the New York Metropolis skyline after a hearth broke out at a skyscraper close to One World Commerce Heart on Wednesday morning.
Fox 5 New York reported that FDNY officers responded to a hearth on the high of a 72-story skyscraper on Greenwich Avenue.
Fireplace officers on the scene mentioned the hearth originated from the skyscraper's HVAC system on the roof of the 72-storey constructing.
No casualties have been reported from the hearth and firefighters have been profitable in controlling the hearth.
Heavy smoke over New York Metropolis triggered momentary panic amongst some New Yorkers who had reminiscences of smoke on the horizon on 9/11.

A thick plume of smoke was seen billowing from an under-construction skyscraper close to One World Commerce Heart after a hearth broke out on the roof of the constructing on Wednesday morning.
The FDNY mentioned no accidents had been reported within the fireplace at 125 Greenwich St., a residential constructing underneath building, to which firefighters responded round 9:20 a.m.
Officers mentioned the hearth originated from an HVAC system situated on the roof of the 72-story constructing.
Building employee Gerson Valencia confirmed to The Submit that the smoke was coming from the constructing's air con duct.
The skyscraper that caught fireplace was a luxurious residential mission that was underneath building for the final 5 years.
