A person set himself on fireplace outdoors the Israeli Embassy in Washington on Sunday afternoon, based on the Metropolitan Police Division in Washington, as police had been checking a suspicious car close by for explosives.
U.S. Secret Service officers extinguished the blaze outdoors the embassy in northwest Washington at about 1 p.m., metropolis fireplace division spokesman Vito Maggiolo stated. The person was taken to a close-by hospital with non-life-threatening accidents and is in essential situation.
The investigation was ongoing and police had not cleared the scene as of Sunday afternoon. Police spokesman Sean Hickman stated officers from the Secret Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives had been working with Washington's Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit to analyze the incident.
Tal Naim, a spokesman for the Israeli embassy in Washington, stated no embassy workers had been injured and all died.
