More than 50 protesters were arrested Tuesday after attacking a cafeteria inside the Dirksen Senate office building. Some people attending the protests could be heard saying “The Senate can't eat until Gaza eats!”

Fox News host Harris Faulkner described the space that protesters had occupied as “the largest cafeteria on the Senate side” of the Capitol complex.

Various protesters can be seen with their hands painted pink and taking turns shouting, “Children in Gaza are dying of hunger” and “People in Gaza are dying.”

Capitol Police reportedly advised that arrests would be made. This prompted one of the Senate protesters to respond, “This is the people's house!”

Senate protesters disrupt Senate hearing

Reports have linked these protesters who shut down the Senate cafeteria to the same group that repeatedly disrupted a Senate hearing with Pentagon leaders on Tuesday.

These protesters twice disrupted the hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee on Capitol Hill. They were demanding the US “stop funding Israel” and supporting “genocide” in Gaza.

The message coming from these protesters is that Israel is committing 'genocide'. However, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin testified at a Senate hearing that, “We have no evidence of genocide.”

Capitol Police issued a statement reminding protesters in the Senate that, “It is illegal to demonstrate inside any congressional building.”

A month earlier, a number of protesters have been arrested contained in the rotunda of the Canon Home workplace constructing. The group of activists have been staging a “die-in”.

Anti-Israel protesters additionally took motion final October when rally attendees led by Consultant Rashida Tlaib (D-MN) stormed the Cannon Constructing, disrupting official proceedings within the Home.

Additionally in November, six cops have been injured when pro-Palestinian protesters attacked the headquarters of the Democratic Nationwide Committee (DNC).
