A far-left Democrat congresswoman has suggested that she supports one of the most shocking forms of racial discrimination: exempting black people in the US from paying taxes as compensation, while other racial groups are exempt from paying taxes. Uncle Sam has to pay.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) suggested the idea to host Jehan “Jay” Carter on 'The Black Lawyers Podcast' in the past. Week, As reported by the Daily Mail.
When Carter asked Crockett about reparations for black people, she told the host, “I don't know, it's not necessarily a bad idea” and that simply handing out money to people might not be that objectionable.
She argues that reparations in some form are necessary. “We are left far behind,” she complains.
Crockett then acknowledged that the tax-exempt plan might face challenges because poor blacks had not been paying taxes from the beginning. He agrees with Carter that poor Black people just want a check from the government, as was the case during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Then she says that's probably not the best idea since many blacks don't pay any taxes anyway… so maybe give a free check. pic.twitter.com/hPCNleGl1p

CROCKETT: Just last week I saw, I don't remember which celebrity, but it was a really famous celebrity, and I was like, I don't know if this is necessarily a bad idea, but I think it's Will happen a lot,” she began in a clip circulated on social media. One thing they propose is that black people won't have to pay taxes for a certain period of time.
But at the same time, for some people actually giving dollars may not be that objectionable. But obviously, then you start dealing with different tax brackets and things like that, and that's one of the reasons you know, we argue that reparations don't make sense because so many Black people – not only are you owed for labor that was stolen, killed and all that other stuff, okay? – But the truth is that we are left far behind.
If you do tax-free work for people who are already, let's say, struggling and not paying taxes…
Carter (laughing): They might want those checks like they got from COVID…
Crockett: Of course!
