When thug life gets results

The mother of a four-year-old Louisiana boy has been arrested on charges that she heard him shoot himself and did not check on him.

In her Baton Rouge home, 22-year-old Ariana Scott allegedly had a gun that her son was able to find in her closet.

According to police, the boy shot himself with a modified gun around 9:30 am on March 20.

Daily Mail report,

Initially, authorities said the mother claimed she had heard a gunshot from her bedroom and then found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound.

However, an affidavit for her arrest released on Thursday said she fell asleep briefly and woke up to find the boy lying in a pool of blood.

Scott said she called the boy and after hearing nothing from him, she went back to sleep.

According to WBRZ, it was revealed that Scott had tried to claim he didn't know where the gun came from due to his serious criminal record.

Police said she was then found to have an unsecured handgun in her bedroom closet, though they do not know how the four-year-old girl got hold of the gun.

When police arrived and found the gun, they got a warrant to search Scott's home.

They found a loaded .40 caliber Glock handgun equipped with a 'switch' that could turn the gun into an automatic weapon and a shell casing in the boy's bedroom.

According to police, Scott was charged with improper supervision of a minor by a parent, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies and possession of a machine gun by a convicted felon.

The bond amount has been set at $65,000, and child services have been notified.

As a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Scott's son was admitted to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
