A police station is attacked by a mob… No, this is not a story that takes place in Haiti – this is France, a supposedly developed country that will hold the Summer Olympics in a few months and where society is still anarchic .
While 'Le Petit Roi' Emmanuel Macron, the 'Grandmaster of Grandstanding', is flexing his mostly imaginary military muscles for the world to see, the situation in French society continues to worsen.
It has now emerged that nine people have been arrested in connection with a (mostly) fireworks attack on a police station near Paris.
Video posted on the Web showed a group of people setting off fireworks in front of the building.

“Late on Sunday, about 50 people attacked the police station in La Courneuve, most of them with fireworks and mortar shots,” Paris police chief Laurent Nunez told broadcaster TF1. La Courneuve is in the northern suburb of Paris, on the Seine. -Located in the Saint-Denis department, which hosts Olympic venues including the major Stade de France stadium.
Sunday evening's attack in the northern suburb of La Courneuve came four days after a teenager riding a moped was killed in a car chase with police. 'We can link this attack to the death' Nunez said The 18-year-old boy killed on Wednesday was named Vanice R. He added, “The young people clearly came from the neighborhood where Venice lived.”
Riot police struggled to respond with (mostly) non-lethal sting-ball grenades and flash-ball projectiles in a confrontation that lasted half an hour.
Nunez said the arrested suspects included seven adults and two minors aged 18-21. He said two police officers suffered 'minor injuries'. Nunez said police would be deployed to the area around noon Monday.
Venice R. was arrested by police after he refused to cease for investigation on Wednesday. Adopted. His scooter was hit by a police automotive, killing him and injuring his passenger.
The lawyer representing the teenager's household accused the police of intentionally killing him, whereas the consultant of the authorities insisted that it was an accident.

“Paris authorities strengthened the police presence within the northern suburb of La Courneuve, close to the Paris 2024 Olympic village, on Monday following an assault on a police station late Sunday evening.
(…) Requested in regards to the danger of riots within the northern Paris suburbs through the Olympics, Núñez mentioned the chance was very low.
'There’s a sturdy police presence there right now and it will likely be much more so through the Olympics, after we may have an enormous presence in every single place within the Paris space, and I’ve no concern at that degree,' Nunez advised reporters.
(…) Safety is of paramount significance to the French authorities in view of the Paris Olympics beginning on 26 July.
