In an interview with MSNBC's Jonathan Capehart, Joe Biden expressed regret over his use of the word “illegal” when referring to the individual accused of murdering 22-year-old University of Georgia student Laken Riley.

This comes to light when Joe Biden was attacked by the radical left over his language during his State of the Union address.

The tragedy of Laken Riley's murder has been at the forefront of a fierce national debate over immigration policy.

Riley, a 22-year-old University of Georgia student, was murdered last month, with the suspect being an illegal alien from Venezuela.

The case made national headlines after Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke to Biden about the incident.

Rep. Greene, known for her outspoken views, attended the State of the Union wearing a shirt bearing the messages “Say Her Name” and “Layken Riley”.

As Biden entered to deliver his address, she handed him a button with Riley's name on it.

During his speech, Biden faced scrutiny for mistakenly referring to the victim as “Lincoln Riley” and for his comments about the perpetrator's immigration status.

“Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an outlaw. This is correct. But how many thousands of people are being killed by illegal people? I tell his parents, I have lost my children and I offer my condolences to you. I understand,” Biden said.

Republican Representative Mike Collins of Georgia had invited Riley's parents to attend SOTU, but they declined.

“I invited Laken Riley's parents to the State of the Union address, but apparently, they have opted to stay home as they grieve the loss of their daughter,” she wrote in a post on ” “Therefore, out of respect for Laken and all American victims of illegal alien crime, the seat reserved for my guest will remain vacant.”

The mother of the murder victim has given a sharp response to Biden.

Alison Phillips angrily called Biden “pathetic” in a Facebook post for not bothering to learn her daughter's name. Then, he had something else to say regarding Biden's character.

“Biden doesn’t even know my kid’s name – that’s pathetic! If you're going to tell his name, at least tell him the right name!” Phillips wrote.

After the devastating address, Biden was immediately attacked by far-left media for calling the murderer an “illegal.”

In his conversation with Capehart, Biden took the opportunity to clarify his stance on immigration, emphasizing “respect” and recognition for the contributions of illegal immigrants to the United States.

“I will not treat any of these people with disrespect. They built this country,” Biden said.

Stephen Miller, senior adviser to President Trump and founder of America First Legal, responded, “Evil. evil. evil. Biden apologizes to illegal alien accused of beating Laken Riley to death after calling him illegal. Biden freed this alleged psychotic killer in America and now wants to make sure his feelings are respected. Open borders are the Democrat religion. Sick. Sick. Sick.”
