Is the USA abusing its veto within the UN Safety Council?

The US has vetoed three resolutions calling for a suspension of hostilities in Gaza from October 7.

Almost 5 months after Israel launched the warfare on Gaza, the United Nations has did not undertake a decision calling for a halt to hostilities.

There have been three votes within the Safety Council – however the USA has vetoed all of them.

UN Secretary-Normal Antonio Guterres has described the veto as a device that has prevented the council from taking motion on Gaza.

Palestine's ambassador to the United Nations has stated that Palestinians have misplaced their lives as a result of US veto.

The US is one in all solely 5 everlasting members that may veto resolutions, and has been accused of abusing its energy.

So is the usage of veto an impediment to choice making within the UN Safety Council?
