Mohammed Abdulkareem, 29, opened fire inside Smile Plus Dentistry and Orthodontics in El Cajon, California, on Thursday, killing one and wounding two others.
After the fatal shooting Thursday, Abdulkareem fled the scene in a U-Haul truck. Police considered him “armed and dangerous”.

After the police received information, the suspect who opened fire was taken into custody late Thursday evening.
According to authorities, Abdulkareem is a “disgruntled former customer” of the dental office.
According to Fox 5 San Diego, Abdulkareem had legally purchased the handgun he used in the shooting at the dental office two weeks earlier.

The man suspected of killing one man and wounding two others in a shooting Thursday inside a dental office in El Cajon has been arrested. Authorities said he was believed to be a “disgruntled former customer.”
At approximately 4:15 p.m., officers received a call about an active shooting inside Smile Plus Dentistry and Orthodontics at 480 North Magnolia Avenue, Cpt. ECPD's Rob Ransweiler said at a news conference.
Police said officers were able to get the victims outside the dental office to perform CPR. One of the victims died at the scene, while the other two, a man in his 40s and a woman in her 20s, were taken to hospital in stable condition. Police said there were other people in the dental office during the incident.
Mohammed Abdulkareem, 29, identified as an El Cajon resident and former patient of the dental office, was taken into custody later that evening following a tip from a citizen, after police publicly identified the suspect. Posted the picture as well as a U-Haul pickup. The truck is indicated as the suspect's vehicle.
